Known by many as simply Star, I have signed my artwork 'Stargirl' ever since I was young budding artist and doodling in sketchbooks wherever I went. I am based in sunny Florida and have had the domain, StarInMyPocket, ever since I was 14 years old, using it to either showcase my art or as a portal to link to my shop and social haunts.

After pursing my love of drawing in the Japanese anime style since I was 12, I began selling my artwork at conventions since 2006 after a local favorite convention chose my art for their con guide and badges. I was given my first artist alley table, fell in love with the experience, and the rest is history! In recent years I did as many as 14 cons a year, venturing up the east coast with my husband, but have had to cut down due to two real life chibi in my life now.

I have sold on Etsy since 2009, but as of 2019, STARINMYPOCKET.NET became a full fledged art site and shop! You can still find me on Etsy with a limited listings selection (and I am always happy to respond to messages there) but this will now be where you can shop and find all I have to offer.

Commissions

I have continued to offer kawaii chibi art commissions that are hand drawn over the years. Though it is now too much for me to do so during conventions, I am happy to shout out they can still be ordered through Etsy! In this AI driven age, I think it is even more special to offer these and be able to ship an original traditional art.

Caricature Commissions

Though known mostly for my anime style art and cute chibi characters, I am also a caricature artist! Why Caricatures? Though fascinated by the theme park caricature artists as a kid, I had no iea I would end up becoming one. After being hired and trained through Kamans Art at Busch Gardens, FL themepark, I had a fun experience working with other caricature artists and drawing people from all over the globe. After moving on, I've adapted my caricatures to my favorite digital art medium and personal style, providing cute custom digital art caricature portraits for families, friends, couples, groups, and more.
